Carrying on from our work on the Equator active High Speed HDMI and our understanding of the audio mandatory with USB, we now have an advanced, ultra high performance USB cable for those who wish to connect the music on their computer to a USB DAC or digital media transport device.
Both forms feature extensive silver-plating, which, our tests show works very well in the digital domain –but, in our experience, not in the analogue domain. Similarly, our cables are optimised to eliminate jitter, the worst ‘enemy’ of digital signal transmission, and to minimise uncertainty, and externally generated interruptions from EMI and RFI interference sources.
The 95% outer screen prevents unwanted noise propagating into the signal conductors, its low calculate stray providing excellent transfer impedance at high frequencies.
Specific attention is paid via our double layer Mylar foil technique whereby 100% RFI isolation is achieved between the power/ground pair and the active differential data pair by enclosing each pair of conductors in their own 100% shield.
Engineered to suit the specific task in hand – transferring a music stream from a computer USB connection to a converter – the Element USB uses Atlas’ proven technologies, tested materials, painstaking research, and thorough listening tests to deliver the finest performance the technology currently permits.
