Il nuovo Cayin CS-55CD è un lettore CD con un valore aggiunto. Grazie anche alla presenza di un ingresso audio USB asincrono, è possibile utilizzare questo Cd-Player come convertitore DAC esterno, basato sul potente chip di conversione audio Burr Brown PCM5101. Questo convertitore D/A è in grado di arrivare ad una risoluzione molto elevata e cioè può leggere file musicali fino a 32bit/384KHz.

Anche lo stadio di uscita del Cayin CS-55CD è estremamente raffinato ed è di tipo valvolare, grazie alla adozione di una valvola preamplificatrice doppio triodo 12AU7 (ECC82).

Completa la dotazione di serie anche un comodo telecomando, attraverso il quale è possibile controllare tutte le funzioni principali e secondarie del lettore CD (e, nel caso in cui si possedesse anche l'amplificatore integrato Cayin CS-55A, le funzioni di quest'ultimo).
